In the beginning there was… retail?

So the name of the show probably made you wonder what this whole thing was about. Well, it’s a funny story and if you made it this far, I’m sure you want the full story. Buckle up. It’s going to be a not so bumpy ride.

It all started at a retail job. My friend Stefan and I were working together one night helping out these two great customers. This whole thing is basically their fault. Stefan and I would pass the time talking about all things that may be considered nerdy. Video games, movies, comics… you name it. This always transitioned over to in depth talks with our customers about these topics. Well this night was no different. These customers were ready to go and Stefan started cashing them out. A phone call came through and I answered like I normally do. After the call, one of them says, “you guys really should be on the radio.” Stefan and I looked at each other and laughed but the both of them were very serious. The further explained that our voices were great and they enjoyed the nerdy convo we had. We brushed it off and these customers went on their way. After they left we joked that we should start a podcast with the topic being everything geeky, nerdy and cool. Has a nice ring doesn’t it? We closed up shop at the end of the night and went home.

That night, I went online to see what it would take to start a podcast. It all went downhill from there. Long story short, I spent a good chunk of money getting equipment and then text Stefan the next day letting him know that we were actually going to do this and there was no turning back because I already bought the stuff. When we started recording we figured that just the two of us would be great but after listening to ourselves we thought something was missing. We needed more voices. That’s when we added Aaron and Tom to the mix. Together we created a diverse round table the likes of which hasn’t been seen since King Arthur. Ok, maybe not that cool, but still.

And now you’re pretty much caught up. There is quite a bit more but I think there should be some kind of mystery in this. On this site you’ll find news and opinion blogs on the world of pop culture.
